The TV series
'Brush With Fame'
John Myatt makes a unique connection with the small screen and
both his life and work have been the subject of two major TV series
and programmes including Sky Art’s ‘Mastering the Art’
and ‘Brush with Fame’.
New for Spring 2010
Sky Art’s ‘Virgin Virtuosos’
This series sees Myatt visiting places that have been made famous
by some of the great art Masters over the years. Myatt travels with
his canvas and a celebrity at his side, who shares Myatt’s
love of painting. Celebrities keeping Myatt company include Maureen
Lipman, Imogen Stubbs and Bill Bailey. Viewers will see Myatt return
to Constable’s Flatford Mill, Monet’s Houses of Parliament,
Canaletto’s Greenwich, Turner’s Stone Henge, Edward
Seago’s Norfolk Broads and John Piper’s Stowe Park.
BBC’s portrayal of an infamous Dutch fraudster
Myatt will appear in a one-off programme with Antiques Roadshow
presenter Fiona Bruce and features the life of the infamous fraudster
Han van Meegeren. His works were sold as legitimate masters to the
Nazis – with one falsified ‘Vermeer’ ending up
in the possession of the notorious Nazi, Goring.
