The TV series
‘Mastering the Art’

Following the success of the recent 10-part series on Sky Arts presented by John Myatt and entitled 'Mastering the Art', the series is set to be repeated from February through to April 2008. In the fascinating series, John Myatt tutors and guides three artists in his 'tricks of the trade' and gives them the stylistic insight into numerous world-renowned artists.

The students within ‘Mastering the Art’ are experts in an artistic field, but the series encourages them to develop their creative talents. In one episode Myatt teaches a tattoo artist Van Gogh brush techniques; whilst another episode sees an airbrush artist learn Monet’s special colour palettes. The students learn the secrets behind Myatt’s success; how to rub soil onto canvas to replicate Braque’s finish or use coffee to age a painting one hundred years in just minutes.
